Prologue

Winter 2010

Mobile Broadband enabled through HSPA technology is like having your home cable broadband experience delivered to your mobile phone or notebook.

Profission have worked with the GSMA since 2007 to develop this industry-leading information portal, complete with mail and broadcast management tools.

Act 1

Introducing the technology

Built to educate the press and industry sources on the benefits and possibilities of the GSMA's HSPA technology, the site soon evolved into a showcase of HSPA-enabled devices, progress on HSPA-ready networks with whitepapers from industry-leading figures and technology providers.

Later, as the concept of broadband speeds on mobile devices became more of a consumer focus, GSMA rebranded the HSPA division to Mobile Broadband and Profission gave the site a more public face with visual examples of speed, performance and application benefits and moved the site look and feel from a technical resource to a presentation device the GSMA could use to broadcast the benefits of an evolving technology to everyone.

Act 2

Mobile Broadband

As the Mobile Broadband initiative continued to evolve from concept to reality the Association needed to shift the voice of the site from a presentation aid to an industry-wide support and resource forum. Profission created a new platform that highlights and promotes case studies, industry whitepapers, briefings and articles, and both consumer and business application of the technology.

Backed with at-a-glance information on the current state of network and device availability the site has become the first point of call for any business working within the technology.
