Marred by a 90% basket abandonment rate through their third-party shopping platform; Unicorn sister-brand PowerGlide engaged Profission to create a new site for the brand that would perform better at every stage of the user journey and convert casual browsers to customers.

 

Built from the ground up on Profission's Medici platform the site focusses on the core product range; putting the cue first - a particularly challenging type of product to promote and display correctly in the browser. The new site features full length, high-quality cue shots and galleries against a clear and concise layout and style, making it the only snooker or pool website capable of displaying the product in its entirity and stepping it light-years away from both competing brands and sports etailers.

Beyond range management itself the Medici platform features a comprehensive promotional engine that allows administrators to run multiple simultaneous discount campaigns across whole departments, categories within a department, and down to actual products themselves; including percentage reductions, basket reductions after a certain price point and the ability to attach products together to create 'buy x get y free' scenarios. Additionally, individual product and attributes stock levels are all managed through the platform.

The new site went live in Spring and we've seen an incredible response; the average visitor is spending almost twice as long on the new site and are exploring roughly four times as many pages during their visit. PowerGlide are currently enjoying a very healthy basket conversion rate and have begun to actively support the range by beginning social network activity and an evolving Adwords campaign. As a guarantee of a return on their investment all development was carried out by Profission against a series of KPI milestones based on turnover through the site.

This site also marks Unicorn's first full foray into ecommerce; previously the domain of their dealers and distributors. In a difficult marketplace PowerGlide have stepped up and are now actively creating online commerce opportunities for their dealers.
